From the Diamondback: Another Converted Fan

Looks like the Diamondback found another writer who is slowly coming over to the women's side of thing. Here's hoping she changes a few minds and we get more than 1,000 students at every game.

A good piece on the team and fan support.

One other note -- now that the ACC is unquestionably one of the two or three best women's basketball conferences top to bottom, fans have to deliver their end of the deal and show better attendance.

Maryland has drawn okay considering the program is still improving, although too often all the eggs are put in the Duke basket. Terrapin fans need to go to other home games!

It's hard to believe that Duke, the ACC's best women's program in recent years, only rates 19th nationally in attendance. That leads the ACC, but six schools in both the Big 10 and Big 12 had higher attendance. North Carolina draws dreadfully, considering the program's consistent national ranking and talented, athletic players. And even though Kay Yow is deservedly an icon at N.C. State, the Wolfpack's recent attendance has been nothing special.
