Terps Wallop Deacons, 83-49

When a team only allows 47 points per game and you score 47 in the first half, it's a good day. Maryland came within three points of again not having to play in the second half. Wake had no match for Maryland's quickness as they rarely had the chance to set their defense up. The zone was also ineffective in rebounding as Maryland grabbed 49 boards to their 36. I think our problem with teams that focus on defense may be over.

I really liked how we attacked on the break and how Strickland seems more confident in her shot these days. We had 20 turnovers, but half of them were traveling calls where it looked like trying to make a move was a travel. Harper's free throw shooting needs to get better and I am sure it will. Defensively we were a little lax in the second half, but when up 36, I can't complain. The ACC Select guy made it seem like the second half was even, but had the starters played the whole game, the result would not have been different.

Crystal records her third-straight double-double and is closing in on the team lead. Marissa did a great job on Tchangoue and as result she didn't score as much. Kristi may be close to the assist record and that will be the next thing I start tracking on the left as she now owns the three-point record. I feel bad for the person who has to chase that record next.

A few days off before Clemson comes to town. Clemson is 7-8 and just lost to Charlotte.

In other ACC Action:
- BC beat Virginia Tech, 63-53
- LSU beat Florida State, 73-61
- Duke beat UNC Central, 82-29
