Game #4: Arizona (BTI Classic)

I feel like we just played a few hours ago and now we have to battle again. It will be interesting to see how the team bounces back after playing yesterday. A win puts us in the "championship game".

Arizona looks to be a little improved from last year when we crushed them. They added some height in the paint, but they look young and inexperienced. They have a 6'6 girl who for some reason yesterday kept taking fadeaway jumpers and was very foul prone. Same went for #32. According to their roster they have two sets of twins on the team. Their guards are a little quick and #12 likes to play in your face defense. They also aren't afraid to shoot the three. One thing I did notice is that they lack a killer instict as they were outscored 10-3 in the final minutes yesterday to lose to GW.

Keys to the Game

  • Pound them early and often - We need to keep up this run of coming out of the gates hot and putting the other team on it's heels.
  • Attack the paint - Their post players aren't that great so we should be able to score at will and get them in foul trouble.
  • Guard the perimeter - They like to shoot the 3, so we need to step out and guard it.
  • better free throw shooting.
  • take better care of the ball. No stupid turnovers.
