Terrapins Take Bite out of Bulldogs, 83-41

Once again the game was a complete bore (not that it's a bad thing) as we scored I think the first 12 points and were rolling at halftime 45-10. The only question in the second half was how many points would we hold GW to. Unfortunately, the refs found their whistles at halftime and started calling everything to start the half. Then #11 started heating up and GW was only outscored by 7 in the second half. It looked like we went on cruise control again and could you blame the team? They were up by 35 at half.

Positives

  • First half defense. Any time you hold a team to 10 points in a half, you are doing a great job. We contested every shot and attacked the glass.
  • The return of Coleman. It took nearly 30 minutes, but we finally saw Marissa emerge from her slump. She grabbed rebounds and went strong to the hoop.

    Negatives
  • Langhorne's free throw shooting. It has to get better as we get closer to ACC play.
  • Three-point shooting. For some reason we don't seem as automatic from behind the arc as we were last year.
  • Marrone's turnover issue. She's making too many dumb mistakes and that needs to improved before Sa'de is eligible.

    Up Next
  • Mississippi - Almost blew a huge lead against Northwestern yesterday, but won in the end 61-58 to improve to 5-1
