Terps Trap Foxes, 86-60

Another boring night at Comcast (If you think 26 point wins are boring) as the Terps toyed with Marist early and then put the game away by halftime. The team matches the school's longest winning streak at 21 and is one win away from matching the school record for best start in school history. Five Terps in double figures, led by newcomer Sa'de Wiley-Gatewood (Thanks Pat), who had 17. Marissa, Kristi and Sa'de all made the all-tournament team. The 86 points were the most Marist gave up all year.

Check out the quotes from Marist's coach below. Second coach in three games to rave about the offense.

Positives

  • Sa'de - Three games in and I have yet to see signs of her being a cancer. In fact, I am more impressed with her scoring than anything else. She missed one free throw yesterday and that was it. I also love that she isn't afraid to take the ball to the basket.
  • Langhorne and Harper - After not playing well on Friday, they did what was asked off them in limited action on Saturday. 8-9 from the floor and Langhorne with a career high six assists.
  • Coleman - Another perfect night from behind the arc and second in three games. Her all-around game is finally coming together.
  • Jade - Once again a solid effort off the bench with 8 points and 8 rebounds. She even had a nice foul line jumpshot.

    Negatives
  • Aurelie - I know she's not as good as the other post players, but she has to give more effort than she gave yesterday when she comes in the game. She was getting outrebounded by 5'8 guards and wasn't even trying to box out. We may need her in a key game and she has to give better effort.
