Terps Rout Wolfpack in ACC Opener, 80-61

Well it looks like ACC play started just like non-conference play finished with another blowout win. The Terps came out ready to play from the get go and built a 26-point lead at halftime, thanks to a slow clock on the half's final play. The second half was more of a cruise control game as they were outscored (Terps scored only 10 points in the final 10 minutes) and outrebounded (a first this year). Shay moved up to No. 2 on the points list, Langhorne is in ninth place now. The winning streak is now at 22, 16-0 start matches the best in school history and Brenda won game 100. Oh and the new girl was 4-for-4 from behind the three-point line.

Positives

  • Sa'de - Fourth game, third double-digit scoring game, and perfect from behind the arc. Plus, she is making Kristi and everyone else so much better.
  • Harper - Her jump shot is working again and she opens up the lane for Langhorne.
  • Langhorne - Now that she is in conference play and more teams want to play her straight up, she will begin to abuse them as she did that poor freshman last night.
  • Teamwork - Another 20+ assist night.

    Negatives
  • The second half - We showed up for the first 10 minutes and then coasted for some reason. I understand they were up big, but that is still no excuse. Also wonder when Coach will let Langhorne and Harper play 30+ minutes. There will be a time where they have to play more minutes and I would like to see them prepared for that.
  • Rebounding - This is the second game in a row where I haven't been impressed with our rebounding effort. We box out, but then don't fight for the ball. NC State must have grabbed at least 10 loose balls night.
