Wednesday's Words

In case you haven't heard, we dropped to 3 in both major polls (Tennessee is nipping on our heals) and 4th in the SI Power Poll.

Jerry Palm released his first bracket of 2007 and we are one seed in the Dayton Regional.

Laura talks about male practice players in this USA Today article. For those that don't know, a group known as the CWA wants to ban male practice players because they feel it limits the opportunities for women in college basketball. They essentially believe that more females aren't be given the chance to play college basketball, because the coaches would rather use the men.

I read the comments here and on the basketcases board and it seems everyone agrees the defense sucks and Langhorne needs more touches. Some have suggested more of a zone, but in the games we have played zone this year, we haven't looked well playing it. Also, there was a comment about not playing as a team. I think we have played too much as a team at certain points, trying to make the extra pass, etc. There has to be a time where certain players just take over the game, like Toliver against Utah and Langhorne against Baylor last year. I do agree that trying to go 1v1 Bales when down 13 is not the best option.
